Under the direction of the Civil Service Commission, the Personnel Department is responsible for the delivery of services which provide for and support the human resources within the City of Napa. Departmental programs include Recruitment, Classification and Compensation, Employee Relations, Health and Safety, and Training and Development.
As an employer, the City of Napa maintains a fulltime workforce of about 450 people. Employees may work in any of 12 City departments: City Attorney , City Clerk , City Manager , Community Resources (Parks & Recreation) , Finance , Fire , Housing , Personnel , Community Development , Economic Development/Redevelopment , Police and Public Works . The Personnel Department administers the recruitment and examination process for all full time positions.
